The NRM Deputy Secretary General, Rt Hon. Rose Namayanja, has appealed to the people of Busia District to support and vote for President Yoweri Museveni in the upcoming 2026 elections due to his dedication towards the social and economic transformation of Ugandans.
Namayanja appealed to mourners on Sunday during the send-off ceremony of Jaaja Nafula Jesca, a maternal grandmother to NRM's National Treasurer, Hon. Amb. Barbara Nekesa Oundo.
"President Museveni and the NRM deserve your full support because they have performed well," Namayanja said as she urged all people to cooperate with the security forces to consolidate the prevailing peace and security in the country, which is much needed in a border district like Busia.
She also extended a message of condolence, love and hope to the bereaved family and thanked the Almighty God for Jaaja Nafula's 92 years of life.
On behalf of the family, Hon. Amb. Barbara Nekesa Oundo thanked the mourners for the overwhelming love and support during the send-off and celebration of the life of their maternal grandmother.
"Jaaja Nafula has gone to be with the Lord because she did her roles well while on earth. She nurtured us into responsible citizens," Amb. Nekesa said.
The burial ceremony was attended by several government officials, including ministers, members of the NRM Secretariat's top leadership, MPs, and other local leaders.
