Namayanja calls for a fair space for free speech

Tuesday 5th March 2024

The NRM Deputy Secretary General, Rt.Hon. Namayanja Rose Nsereko, has advocated for a fair space for free speech and expression for all Ugandans, irrespective of their political inclinations.

Referring to a scenario where NRM supporters were blocked on some social media platforms during the 2020 general campaigns, Namayanja said the act was unfair and should be condemned by everyone.

“All people should be offered a chance to express their opinions without being gagged. It is the only way we shall grow our democracy as a nation,” Namayanja said.

The Deputy Secretary General said this today as she presented in a stakeholders’ discussion on constitutional and electoral reforms on the road to 2026 general elections organised by the NGO Forum at the Golf Course Hotel.
