President Yoweri Museveni has today paid his last respects to the fallen Iganga Woman MP, Grace Hailat Kaudha who passed on last week due to severe preeclampsia.
The President described the late legislator as a hard-working person who was on the path of self-actualization.
He cautioned parents against subjecting girls into early marriages, an act he said, has put the girls’ lives at risk.
“This is a backward practice which exposes those children to pregnancy and childbirth related complications, sometimes leading to death.” The President said.
He also called upon expectant women to pay special attention during pregnancies in order to avoid unnecessary tragedies.
“Things like pressure are well known and can be regulated if discovered on time. Health workers should sensitize the public on this to avoid unnecessary tragedies.” He explained.
