President Yoweri Museveni has today hosted the Ethiopian Prime Minister, HE Hailemariam Desalegn who is in the country on a three day working visit.
The two principles held talks aimed at strengthening economic and political relationship between the two countries.
They agreed to work together in the stabilization of South Sudan, utilizing the IGAD framework, which is currently chaired by HE Hailemariam Desalegn.
On trade, the Heads of State agreed to explore areas in which Uganda and Ethiopia can trade with each other especially now that there is a route (road) connecting Kenya and Ethiopia at Moyale. They also explored the opportunity of opening Uganda to southern Ethiopia.
On Somalia, the two leaders agreed to continue working together to create an enabling environment for the country to build state pillars, establish minimum infrastructure and social services.
The Prime Minister will visit President Museveni's farm at Kisozi where he will spend the rest of the day, and will on Saturday tour CIPLA Quality Chemicals Industry in Luzira before departing the country in the afternoon.
His visit comes on the anniversary of the Battle of Adwa, where King Menelik defeated the Italians on the 2nd of March 1896.
