The NRM National Treasurer Hon. Namayanja Rose Nsereko called upon the people of Mityana and Uganda at large to take advantage of the prevailing peace to engage in income-generating activities.

Hon Namayanja made the call on Saturday while officiating a fundraising function for the completion of the pastoral house for Kiryokya SDA Church in Mityana district.

"Uganda is now a peaceful country with no wars. Peace has been secured, the next war is now on poverty. Lets therefore, engage in income-generating activities to uplift the economic standards of our households." Namayanja said.

She furthermore urged the people to render their support to NRM under the leadership of HE Yoweri Kaguta Museveni so that the country can continue enjoying the much-appreciated peace.

She, however said the army is a pro-people force because of the direction shown to it by the Commander in Chief. If you remove Museveni from the helm of the army, peace won't be guaranteed and you may end up suffering just like in the years before the NRM.

Namayanja also commended the church's faithfulness to the work done in reaching the current level of construction and for holding a development driven vision, one that she said, will go along way in developing the society.

On behalf of the party, she contributed tiles worth Sh10 millions to the completion of the structure.

She was accompanied by area MP and tourism state minister, Hon Kiwanda Ssubi and her husband, Mr Charles Nsereko Kawuma.
