Lumumba urges media practitioners on professionalism

The NRM Secretary General Rt. Hon Justine Kasule Lumumba has urged media practitioners to exercise high levels of professionalism and objectivity in their work.

 

Speaking during the annual Iftar Media dinner held at the Busoga Square in Jinja where she was the Chief Guest, Hon Lumumba urged media practitioners to remain politically neutral and report responsibly in the effort to help build a peaceful democratic country adding that they should also exercise a good spirit of Unity.

 

Lumumba applauded the Busoga media fraternity for coming up with the great idea of breaking the fast together and congratulated the Muslims for coming this far in the month of Ramadhan.

 

She donated Rice, Wheat, cartons of water, cooking oil and sugar among others that were distributed equally to media personalities who attended the iftar dinner at Busoga Square.

 

On his part, the Busoga Kingdom Deputy Prime Minister, Owek. Osman Ahmed Noor thanked President Yoweri Museveni for the support rendered towards the development of the kingdom.

 

He thanked the President for the assistance he rendered at the burial of the Late Sheikh Juma Katega.

 

Owek Osman requested for government support towards facilitating a number of Muslim leaders to make their pilgrimage to Mecca to enable them complete their cycle of faith.

 

The dinner was attended by a number of dignitaries including, Jinja district L.C 5 Titus Kisambira, Iganga District NRM Chairperson Hajji Abubaker Walubi, Hon. Milton Muwuma among others.
