Uganda is now a totally peaceful country, with security assured for all citizens. The peace and security we are enjoying, is irreversible. NRM pledged, in the 2006 election Manifesto, the complete annihilation of all terrorist groups from the country, as part of the continuing effort to ensure good governance in the country.
This has been achieved with the complete expulsion of the LRA terrorists from Uganda and their total emasculation as a military threat.
The biggest achievement of the NRM Government in the last 5 years has been to see the people of Northern Uganda and Teso who were living in camps for internally displaced people now enjoying peace and security like the rest of Ugandans have done over the last twenty five years.
The NRM Government has remained a bulwark for stability in the entire region, ably and decisively containing the threat of global and regional terrorism.
This has been possible because the NRM Government has maintained its high focus on the professionalization of the army which is now a Bi-Service Force.
The consolidation of peace, defense and security has additionally been possible because of the maintenance of high professional standards by the security organizations.
